MIA and other randomness

I have been hit and miss lately with my blogging. It mainly has to do with the fact that the main computer I do my blogging on is down and out. It's actually just the power cord that has stopped working but we haven't gone out and bought a new one yet. So what has been happening around here?

Well last Saturday we went to another pumpkin patch. This time it was one by our house and we met up with my brother and sis n law and nephew. It was a nice time and they had so much stuff to do. We ended up just walking around, I took a few pictures and then the hubby picked our pumpkin right off the vine! After that we went over to my brothers house and carved our pumpkin with my sis in law and nephew. Sadie loved putting her hand in the pumpkin and feeling all the goeey stuff. We decided to carve a rubber duckie because Sadie loves her rubber ducks!! I took pics but haven't had the chance to upload them yet.

Sunday was church and it was a good day. My husbands friend was back in town after being in Alaska for the last few months so we went out to lunch with them. When we came home we did some cleaning and then I started dinner. I made a roasted whole chicken with potato and sausage stuffing. It was pretty good! It was also the first time I had ever made a whole chicken so I felt pretty proud of myself. Sadie was grumpy and clingy most of the day. I think she is getting some more teeth. She has three already but I think she is getting at least two more.

Monday was Halloween obvisously. I dressed Sadie up as a cat because she LOVES cats!! I decided not to take her out trick or treating this year because she's not gonna be the one eating the candy anyways. We decided to sit outside and pass out candy. Sadie loved looking at all the kids dressed up in their costumes. She was most fascinated with the kids in masks. We didn't get a whole lot of kids and ended up going back inside around 7:30pm. I think it was a good first Halloween for Sadie!!

My birthday is coming up in a few weeks, November 19th, and there are only two things I'm wanting:
- A new macro lens for my camera
or
- A massage

I've been a little uninspired with blogging lately and haven't found anything good to write about. Any ideas??

Fall Rally and the Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we are up in Tulare for a fall rally that is put on by Grace Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Tulare. It's a church that we associate with. We had so much fun visiting with everyone and enjoying the activities that the church had. My family also lives up here in Tulare County so I got to visit with them for a little while and today we decided to stay one more night with my sister who lives in Fresno because she is going to Fresno State. So we decided to come visit her 3 bedroom condo in which she lives by herself and give her some company. While we were here we also went and visited a pumpkin patch. It was more because I wanted to just have a photo shoot with Sadie but we had a nice time and my sister bought Sadie a tiny little pumpkin just for her! Photos will be coming soon!!

Courageous

I don't normally recommend too many movies to people but I feel that this one is a great movie that everyone should see. Courageous is made by the same people that made the movie Fireproof (which I recommend as well). If you are looking for a movie that you can take your family to then this is it. It has great values and morals and those are hard to find in a movie these days. I definitely shed a tear or two as well. Seeing a movie where family and God was of such importance was so great! You don't find that in movies anymore and the whole storyline was so uplifting. God can work so much through a movie like that that is shown in movie theaters. I hope everyone will take the time to watch this movie and sit back and reflect and think about the morals that were brought out in the movie.

Seriously Thursday!

I'm linking up with http://www.frommrstomama.com today for some Seriously Thursday!

1. Serious, it's almost fall and the weather here is still in the high 90's. Although we are supposed to get some thunderstorms tomorrow.

2. Seriously, my baby girl is not even 8 months old yet and I think she is on the fast track to walking. She pulls herself up on everything and all she wants to do is stand. I mean she just started crawling a few weeks ago!

3. Seriously, I can't believe how fast time is going. I mean September is almost over and Halloween is right around the corner.

4. Seriously, my brother in laws wedding is coming up and I still have baby weight that I would have liked to have lost by now.

5. Seriously, I wasn't able to watch the Teen Mom finale until yesterday but Farrah is really deciding to leave her daughter with her parents while she goes off to college. Maybe she should have waited to have a baby so she could go off to college....

6. Seriously, Sadie needs to nap a little better. It's such a struggle and then she just ends up being super cranky all evening.

7. I seriously haven't had a post with pictures in awhile, neither have I been a great blogger in awhile. Oh well, I have other more important things to worry about right now.

Following the Lord

Ever since I have had Sadie, I have felt so out of the loop with everything, especially at church. I used to teach the preschool age Sunday School class but stopped when Sadie was born and I have been feeling like I haven't been doing enough at church lately. I know taking care of my baby is up there on the priority list but sometimes I feel like I'm not helping enough when it comes to potlucks and extra curricular activities. I was talking to my hubby about this and maybe becoming more involved with the youth or something like that. I also have been praying about it so I will see where God leads me with this. I will just be reminded by God's grace with this scripture:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Busy, Busy...

I have been so busy the last couple of weeks that I feel like a chicken with my head cut off! We have been going to numerous doctors appts, a job interview, our church association, trying to organize our room and my little girl has a cold!

Let's start with my job interview: I recieved a call about 3 weeks ago from an ob/gyn office that I gave a resume to about a year ago (I'm a medical assistant) and never heard anything from them. Well they called and said they were looking for a full time front office receptionist and wanted to know if I was interested. My hubby and I have debated about me going back to work so we decided just to go to the interview and see what happens. The interview went well and I'm waiting to hear back.

Our church association was 2 weeks ago. It's a time where all the churches that we fellowship with get together for 3 days, have singing, preaching and fellowship, as well as taking care of some business. It starts on a thursday night, continues all day friday and then goes for the half the day on saturday. It was such a great meeting and the sermons were fantastic, as well as seeing everyone!

I've been trying to organize our room and make it more efficient. I got our dresser drawers all cleaned out and organized and moved onto our filing cabinet. I still have so much to do in there though!

Sadie started showing signs of a cold last Thursday. It's her first one and she's been kinda grumpy with it. That Thursday, she would only sleep on me so that's what she did the whole night. Friday she was clingy and grouchy so I didn't get much done. She seemed to be better Saturday and Sunday but Monday she was all congested again and grumpy. Yesterday was kinda the same thing and today she is grumpy and clingy as well. I hope she starts feeling better soon and any thoughts on how to keep her nose clear of congestion would be great!!

For the love of......football?

That's right! It's that time of year again. Leaves changing, pumpkin spice lattes and......football!! USC football to be exact!! It's one of my favorite times of year. Getting all dressed up in my cardinal and gold and this year I have a little one to deck out in USC gear! Wouldn't she look so cute in this little number?

Anyways, I'm a self proclaimed USC fanatic, like in love with the team! There the best college team out there! And since I live here in good ol' Southern Cali, I get to watch them whenever I want. So you better believe that every Saturday I will have the tv on, yelling at my boys in cardinal and gold to FIGHT ON!!

Peek-a-boo!

The other day I was in the kitchen making myself some lunch. I put Sadie in her walker and started making my food. She was being really quiet so I turned and looked at her. She had grabbed onto the dish towels that were hanging from the oven and was hiding her face behind them! So I said, "Where's Sadie?" and she sure enough she moved her face from behind the towel and gave me her big toothless grin!

6 months!

Sadie turned 6 months a few weeks ago! I know, I can't believe that she is half a year already!!!! She had her 6 month checkup on Monday and here are her stats:
Weight: 15.5lbs
Height: 24 3/4 in
The doctor said she is the size of a 4 month old but that she is ok, just petite :)

Sadie loves her food. She eats solids twice a day, oatmeal with fruit in the morning and veggies or meat in the afternoon, along with organic rice rusks, real pieces of fruit, ice cubes and the occasional popsicle.

She also loves her sippy cup.
She is pretty much sitting up by herself.

She loves her books!
Teething like crazy!!

Working on crawling.

Rolling over both ways, all the time.

Absolutely loves the dog.

Learning how to wave.

She says dada and mama.

Reaches for EVERYTHING.

Smiles ALL THE TIME!

And a few favorites:
